St. George Community Shopping Services
The Shopping for Food Service is designed to assist people who are frail aged, younger people with disabilities and their carers who are experiencing difficulties using public transport or carrying their shopping.
 |
| At the local supermarket |
We provide a minibus which collects you from your home and takes you to a local supermarket. Volunteers are provided if you require assistance with your shopping. The shopping bags are then loaded on to the bus and you are returned home, where your bags are carried inside to your kitchen.
A wheelchair accessible bus is available on our shopping service. We have a Greek, Spanish and Chinese bi-lingual staff member and volunteers who speak numerous languages working on our mini-buses.
 |
| Pickup from home |
We can help if:
- You are having problems accessing public transport.
- Finding it difficult to get out of your home without assistance.
- It is getting harder for you to carry your shopping home from the supermarket.
- You are lacking social interaction with people your own age.
Trips are fortnightly.
Cost $10.00 per trip.
